Beacon Partnership CTeach

Beacon Academy Teaching School is proud to be working within Beacon Partnership, alongside the Sussex Teaching School Alliances, St Mark’s Teaching School Alliance, Rother Teaching School Alliance, University of Sussex and East Sussex County Council.

Beacon Partnership has been selected by the Chartered College of Teaching, the professional body for teaching, to deliver the prestigious Chartered Teacher (CTeach) Programme in East and West Sussex, Kent and Brighton and Hove and is recruiting participants to apply to join the next cohort in September 2020.

Based on similar programmes around the world, the CTeach Programme celebrates the excellent teaching and practice occurring in classrooms every single day and is designed to further the expertise of experienced practitioners.

Important update (March 2020):

Following the recent government guidance relating to COVID-19 and resulting school closures, the first cohort of the Beacon Partnership CTeach programme have started the course online and we are continuing to recruit participants for our second cohort to start in September 2020. Our first face-to-face event will take place for both cohorts in January 2020

Our next deadline for applications is Tuesday 1 September 2020 and would encourage anyone considering applying to get in touch with us via

We are currently reviewing which elements of the course could be completed online if a face-to-face event is not possible and we will update the course programme details as soon as this is confirmed. Of course, we will continue to monitor the situation and review our plans as necessary in light of updated government guidance.

We look forward to going ahead with the programme and to receiving additional applications from participants, as well as from potential mentors and assessors.
